Managers have a tough job!
It typically takes about 4 years for new managers to find their stride. The first year is spent learning their job and putting out fires. There are open positions to fill and cover for, mistakes to rectify, and it takes time to network and meet key partners. Once they understand their role, the second year is dedicated to finding their unique managerial style and voice (if they're lucky). Year three tends to include sharpening skills and gaining confidence. Finally, in year four, managers begin to put it all together and begin to thrive.
Our Strong Managers Thrive* program will shorten the learning curve. We focus our coaching on talents to help clients define their style and voice from the beginning. We help clients recognize their unique talents, realize how their talents have helped them to be successful in the past, and teach them how to aim their talents to accomplish predetermined goals. The other half of the program is build on existing skills with a people management crash course focusing on the skills deemed most important for relatively new leaders at any level, to master to be successful.
Strong Managers Thrive* is a one year program that consists of 4 alternating coaching and e-training sessions per month. We take a proactive approach to gaining experience, with the client emerging from the program with similar skills, confidence, and style mastery as a colleague with 4 additional years of experience.
The MANAGER STARTER PACKAGE* is a mini version of the STRONG MANAGERS THRIVE Program. Often times, the results of coaching and training are more determined by fit than content, so we offer a shorter program that offers us the opportunity to determine fit in a more cost effective way.
In each of these three month programs we provide and then build upon a solid foundation to expedite managers learning curve through bi-monthly (2x/month) coaching and e-course trainings designed to help new managers to take a proactive role in their careers. Clients receive a (first/next) 90 day outline of important milestones to achieve to avoid the time wasting uncertainty of "I don't know what I don't know". We also provide a safe space to ask questions without judgement or the fear of looking foolish in front of peers or a supervisor.
Upon completion of each module of this program, clients should be able to perform at a level comparable to having an additional year of experience.
Explore individual Strengths Coaching sessions on an a' la carte basis. We start with a strengths debrief and then proceed on a session by session, or prepaid package basis.
Discounts are available for multiple prepaid sessions.
*These programs may qualify for professional development funding. Check with your supervisor to find out if your organization will pay for a portion, or all of the associated costs.

Achieve your Goals
I've included my answers to our pre-session goals (below) from before we started. At that point, I wanted to just make it through one week at a time because that's all I could handle. My job was constricting me and slowly killing me...both literally and figuratively, I think. I knew I needed to do something and that is where our work started.
What are your goals for the next week?
Honestly just to make it through. One week at a time without losing my mind
Next Month?
Have at least 1 interview with a business in another profession
Next quarter?
Field at least 3 job offers
Next year?
Be in a different position making similar income, in a position that excites me.
As of last week (less than four months after we began to work together), I was offered and accepted a position in a different field. I'm incredibly excited about the work and can't wait to get started. It's a salaried position (as compared to my current eat-what-you-kill situation) that is 50% higher than what I took home last year. It also has unbelievable benefits and I get to be part of a team with tons of growth and learning opportunities.
I'm still in a bit of shock that I got this opportunity. I credit his program and our work together as a major component of this new direction. Everyone always says they want to be more confident in themselves. I believe the only way to be more confident in yourself is to truly understand what you're good at and what might be a bit more challenging to you based on your personality. Jamis helped me understand my strengths and how to double down on them. I used a lot of these concepts in my interviews. I made sure I explained my (CliftonStrengths) Top 5 and how it makes me a great candidate. I was told by my now-manager that every person that I interviewed with was blown away. That's a great feeling. Having the confidence of knowing what you do really well makes you almost unstoppable.
For anyone else who is reading this, the work wasn't easy. You have to actually put in the time to sit and think through the questions. I still use some of the techniques now because they are tremendously helpful. I really believe if you put in the work with this program, you'll begin to understand yourself on a different level. Your confidence will skyrocket, and people will notice. Life becomes a good bit more enjoyable. Trust the process, I do!

Highly Recommend
"My coach, Jamis, really helped me find ways to improve my daily life through several different strategies. These strategies specifically helped me to be more appreciative, more reflective, connect more quickly and deeply with others, and be more intentional in my own thoughts to better control my feelings and actions (which ultimately helps control outcomes). The more you give and commit the more you get and excel. This was my first coaching experience and I couldn’t recommend it more!! Jamis did a great job making every session feel conversational; he really pushed me to be a better version of myself without ever feeling like he was being pushy. "

Well Paced
"In full disclosure, I knew Jamis before our coaching sessions began. He takes the time to get to know you, your motivations, and your current life circumstances. He is well paced (within individual sessions and over the course of the sessions as a whole). I never felt like too much information was being presented at once and there were a few occasions where I had some problems grasping concepts or putting them into practice so Jamis spent time reviewing these with me. He uses real world examples that are easily relatable."
